Restoring Floodplain Grazing Marsh at Lough Beg Nature Reserve, Northern Ireland

This project aims to conserve and restore the largest area of quality floodplain grazing marsh (a UK BAP priority habitat) in Northern Ireland. In its first phase, it will develop a conservation plan for the Western Shore of Lough Beg to identify physical works required to conserve and protect over 1,000 hectares of floodplain grazing marsh and identify the long-term conservation objectives for the area. This will involve informal education work about this habitat with local owners and the general public. Breeding wader exercise & spring survey on flooding.
