Restoring Heathland at Greenham & Crookham Commons

As part of a wider Living Landscape project BBOWT aims to work with West Berks District Council to safeguard and increase the extent of heathland at Greenham and Crookham Commons and BBOWT's adjacent Bowden Woods Nature Reserve The project will address the problem of scrub encroachment and secondary woodland which is a major threat to heathland. A Warden/Ecologist will work with volunteers, contractors and West Berkshire District Council staff to deliver a range of heathland habitat management tasks. the project therefore requests support for a small proportion of the Warden/Ecologist's time to carry out these tasks.
