Restoring Rides in Lower Woods Nature Reserve

This project will restore 0.875 hectares of woodland rides within Lower Woods Nature Reserve. A mosaic of coppice coupes and diverse structures will be restored to encourage a range of species to flourish. The opening up of the woodland will benefit flora, invertebrates and a number of UK BAP priority species such as Barbastelle, Bechstein's and brown long-eared bats as well as generating the ideal habitat to encourage the further migration of the dormouse population throughout the wood.
