Projects / Restoring Wentwood Forest

Restoring Wentwood Forest

Wentwood Forest (WF) is the largest Planted Ancient Woodland Site (PAWS) in Wales and the 9th largest in the UK. Restoring WF is a partnership project with the aim of creating a landscape scale flagship biodiversity rich forest in Wales. Much of WF has been clear felled and planted with conifers. Although ancient woodland cannot be recreated it can be restored. This 4 year restoration project will increase the core area of semi-natural habitats and make the landscape more ecologically functional and resilient to the impacts of climate change
