Restoring Wet Heaths in Bramshill Forest

The Thames Basin Heaths comprise a significant area of lowland heath and have been subjected to intense pressure over the last two centuries.
Bramshill and Warren Heath SSSI, typify this type of habitat, still relatively wild and open but hemmed in by urban conurbations and conifer plantations. Like many others, this site is suffering from a decline in habitat quality and loss of rare species. This project aims to accurately assess the currrent condition of the habitat and the causes of decline in biodiversity. Plantlife will then undertake appropriate managment work to restore the site as a key BAP habitat.
