Reuniting Ancient Dodhaw’s Woodland

A two year project to improve and link the three woodlands that traditionally made up Dodhaws Wood. The project will include creating 4ha of woodland from a recently purchased arable field through reducing fertility, seeding with green hay, natural regeneration, weed control and deer fencing, to link Southwick and Short Wood. The project also includes management work on Southwick Wood (22ha), Short Wood (25ha) and Glapthorn Cow Pastures (28ha), including vegetation monitoring, coppicing and ride/glade clearance, through a combination of staff time and external contractors.
