Revitalising Brede High Special Woodlands

The aim of this project is to bring back into sensitive management those areas where there are still remnants of the ancient ground flora beneath the conifers. The trees will be sensitively removed, to allow light to reach these important plant species without damaging this precious resource. This will allow the plants the opportunity to survive and re colonise all the areas in the long term. Research has shown that delay in implementing this important management may mean we could lose the opportunity to restore the rich ancient woodland flora in Brede forever
