Revitalising Space for Wildlife in the Mendip Hills

This project will focus on maintaining and enhancing the species rich grassland on the Mendip Hills. It will provide the infrastructure, capital works and equipment necessary to continue the Grazing Animal Project. The objectives of the land are to:- Develop a sustainable land management approach to the reserves on Mendip Improve the biodiversity of species rich grasslands on Mendip through optimal grazing. Contrubute to the local district council BAP Increase awareness and understanding of the importance of a biodiverse landscape through involvement in the active management and monitoring of the sites. Provide opportunities for volunteering targeted at young people Evaluate the relative success of the GAP approach and share the findings widely with the land owning fraternity in the area.
