Reviving Furness Abbey

Installing level access paths across the site for wheelchairs and pushchairs; improving site security; and helping orient visitors from their entry in the car park through their journey across the whole site. An exciting element of the project is creating a new set of stairs leading to the old monks’ dormitory, which will provide a high level view point helping visitors to understand the layout of the historic ruins and the wider landscape setting of the site.
