RHS Garden Bridgewater, Salford – Play Wild adventure playspace

The transformation of a 154-acre historic landscape in Salford into RHS Garden Bridgewater will create a major visitor attraction and an important community asset for the region.

A key feature of the site will be ‘Play Wild’ an exceptional adventure play space created in a series of zoned woodland glades to provide an exciting, inclusive and accessible play experience for children and young people aged 0-18.

Drawing inspiration from plants, pollinators and the natural environment and using the RHS’ expertise in creating learning gardens where lasting connections to nature are forged, the space will be designed using the principles of discovery, reflection, challenge, managed risk-taking and sustainability. Many features will be crafted by staff and volunteers using timber reclaimed from site.

Play Wild will be a one-of-a-kind, inspirational destination play space for the North West, providing multiple social, health and wellbeing benefits to visiting children and families.
