Rhyddings Walled Community garden

This new project will renovate a derelict area of Rhyddings park by the recreation of the walled kitchen garden. The garden will be a community learing centre with a formal kitchen garden layout, community orchard, herb beds and glasshouse; Includes a wide range of practical & horticultural learning opportunites for adults with special needs, young people at risk ,long term unemployed. The project will restore the original kitchen garden walls and replace the old fencing and lost gates, which emphasise the formal boundaries of the garden; improve the infrastructure (paths/ drainage etc); create an educational raised Herb Garden, demonstrating the historical and everyday use of herbs in various areas such as medicinal, culinary and household; an insect Wildlife Garden.
