Riddings Road Play Zone

The current play zone, adjacent to Riddings Road in Deighton, provides an excellent location for young people to play and exercise, and older residents to enjoy, in the heart of the surrounding residential area. However, the layout of the existing kick-about football and basketball area, and the site in general, are not making full use of the space. The asphalt concrete surfacing to the kick-about/basketball area is in poor condition making it difficult for children to play, and the levels of the remaining areas are very uneven. The project will create a modern Multi Use Games Area, provide seating and picnic tables in the playground, useable grassed and picnic areas, tree planting and attractive hard and soft landscaping. Effective boundary treatment is required around the kick-about/basketball area and around the entire site to make it a safe place for families and children to use and enjoy.
