Ridgeway Drive, Westward Ho! Play Area Refurbishment

Ridgeway Drive was a play area owned by Torridge District Council. Major neglect over time led to all equipment being removed, the surface was in a poor state and also the fencing. Local residents approached Northam Town Council, who applied for a community asset transfer. After consultation with local children and parents this project will install a new surface, new fencing, new equipment, which will be disability friendly. Also a talking litter bin, which will encourage children not to leave litter in the area. It will provide a safe and secure environment for play and development, on this land which is in a significantly sized housing estate. There are currently very limited play facilities in the area.
