River Annan Catchment Water Vole Project

This project aims to safeguard the future of water vole populations in the River Annan catchment by training appropriate land- managers and rangers to undertake sustainable mink control using the Game Conservancy Trust’s award winning mink raft. In addition, use of the rafts will enable those involved to monitor and record the presence of any water mammal visiting it. Primarily this is to identify the location of water voles in the catchment. All this work aims to aid protection of populations, and to identify opportunities for populations research and habitat enhancement.
