River Avon Restoration project Phase 3

The project aims to restore the habitat of the river Avon. In the 1970’s the river was dredged and straightened to alleviate flooding. This action devastated the rivers ability to support fish and other species. The project has successfully restored gravel spawning beds, groynes and weirs, plus boulders to create a better habitat for a variety of creatures. This is the third section of the river to be enhanced.
