River Carron Big Clean Up Phase 2

The River Carron Big Clean Up Project (Phase 2) is a river regeneration project for the benefit of sixteen communities and is an environmental, wildlife conservation and biodiversity project which brings many public amenities, social and economic benefits to the area
When Phase 2 is completed, the entire River Carron will have been regenerated, a goal which would be considered a major achievement for any river in Scotland.
By removing industrial, commercial, social and domestic waste from the river system, there will be an immediate improvement in existing environmental pollution in the river system and the water quality will be immediately improved. This will result in an increase in invertebrate species and numbers, which will have a huge effect on the entire watercourse and riparian food chain. The visual impact will also be immediate.
