River clady – Stiles and Footbridges Project

This project aims to firstly provide club and visiting anglers full safe access along the banks of the River Clady while fishing. Secondly it will give members of the public access to walk along the Clady River. The club intends to complete the provision of stiles and footbridges along the full length of the river from the joining of its two main tributaries (Grillagh and Knockoneill rivers) to its junction with the river Bann – joining up sections previously completed and the disabled angling facility. The project will involve the provision of 19 new stiles and 9 footbridges, the replacement of some existing broken/rotten stiles and footbridges. The repair and safety upgrade of two existing river crossing metal footbridges, one of which also requires repairs to its foundations caused by erosion and finally the application of an anti-slip surface to the footbridge at the disabled angling facilities at the clubhouse on the Mayogall Road. Photographs provided are detailed in section 2.2.
