River Crane Conservation Project

The River Crane Conservation Project aims to deliver significant enhancements to the biodiversity value of priority habitat and species along 8km of the River Crane. It is a partnership project working with stakeholders across the voluntary, statutory and corporate sector.

The project site covers 226 hectares in total and focuses on three priority areas; Crane Park, Roxbourne and Yeading Brook.

The project will work to benefit BAP priority habitats and species in the project area including rivers and streams, reedbeds, wet woodland, meadow, parks and urban greenspace, standing water, water voles, great crested newts and soprano pipstrelle bats. The work will also contribute to flood alleviation and will help to mitigate against, and adapt to the impacts of, climate change.
