River Ehen Riverside Walk

A popular, circluar walk alongside the River Ehen, via a permissive footpath, is in need of reinstatement. The path was seriously eroded by flood waters in 2009 and, in order to prevent further loss of access and to reduce the damaging impact of future flood events, the Action Group (EGFLOOD) has been in discussion with the Environment Agency, with local interest groups and with others with similar aims and objectives. Works will include some 'hard' landscaping sturctures, such as stone-filled gabions, with the objective of providing a base on which to reinstate safe, pedestrian access through the woodland on the river margins.
