River Ouse Restoration

Covering 2km of river and 20ha of floodplain, this project seeks to restore lost aquatic and floodplain habitats. The river has been heavily modified through history, reducing the biodiversity value and disconnecting the river from its floodplain. This project will work to reverse these changes.

The project aims to enhance the diversity of the area restoring the lowland meadow habitat, reconnecting the river to its floodplain reinstating areas of wet woodland, increasing the area of wet grassland and improving the condition of the coastal and floodplain grazing marsh.
