Riverside Path Access at Rainham Marshes

At present, the riverside path (a joint foot and cycle path that forms part of the Thames Path) that runs alongside the reserve is isolated from the reserve nature trail network. The aim of this project is to build a bridge across the southern perimeter ditch of reserve at Rainham Marshes creating a circular walk for visitors that connects the marshes with the River Thames. On the river-side of the bridge will be a viewpoint, seating, shelter and interpretation informing people about the rich history of this ancient marshland (a UK BAP priority habitat).
