Roby Field, Liverpool – Woodland creation (007480)

This project will transform a grass field into an community woodland helping to improving the quality of the local environment, investing in green infrastructure and helping to tackle climate change and raise awareness of environmental issues. The focus of the project is to create an accessible and welcoming local green space which benefits the community, people and wildlife however the new woodland will play a role in helping to reach net zero and help to mitigate the urban heat island effect.The site is inaccessible to the local community and is the largest green space in walking distance of two schools, Age UK Community Centre, St Barts Church and is neighboured by sheltered accommodation flats. The Roby Field Stakeholder group is working together to bring partners to build space which creates a home for wildlife and people in an urban setting.
