Projects / Roman Garden

Roman Garden

The project involves the development of a Roman Garden which would add greatly to visitor appeal at the National Roman Legion Museum in Caerleon. It would only be planted with species that were indigenous or introduced at the time of a Roman occupation of Wales. The landscaping of a Roman garden will enhance the interpretation of Roman Caerleon and promote further understanding of Roman horticulture and medicine. The garden will provide focus on educational themes for all age groups. It will significantly enhance visitors experience and make the garden, which is currently not used into an additional visitor attraction.
