Roof Repair and Renewal with Insulation, Christ the King Church, Thornaby

This 54 year old church and its hall and community cafe need the roof renewing, repairing and insulating as there are numerous leaks which are causing damp to this beautiful church and its communal facilities. The works will also enable the church to reduce its carbon footprint and ensure the facility remains sustainable for Thornaby residents (circa 30,000) and beyond into the future.

Environmental considerations: To reduce both the church carbon footprint and heating energy use. The roof is not currently insulated. This repair will include 120mm of rigid insulation resulting in a warm roof construction, cutting energy bills significantly.

Hard to reach considerations: The church is well attended for all events and is situated akin to Thornaby Town Centre. It has an open door policy. The local comprehensive school/college promotes events and programmes as well as the web site. Free community magazines and social media promote room/hall hire.
