Roscoe Road Nature Walk

To create a nature walk adjacent to a multi-use games area within a residential setting. The site is currently wasteland which is overwhelmed with litter and fly-tipping, creating a local eye-sore. The nature walk / environmental improvements will include site preparation / clearance, fence, pathway, meadow creation, seating area, information board (to be designed by local school children and facilitated by Groundwork North East), scrub removal and tree and shrub planting. Volunteers from Avecia Biologics will help with some planting, and following completion of the project, the site will be able to be used for educational environmental visits from schools, nurserys and children’s centres, as well as for local community use as an attractive accessible wildlife and habitat rich nature walk. There will also be an area within the site available for planting and digging, which can be used by groups for educational purposes.
