Rose Hill Junior Youth club planters

This project will improve a 8 meter square area outside the Rose Hill Community Centre which is currently an unused, unkept patch of bushes. Although only at a small scale, this project aims to increase access to nature for everyone in our community, promote and increase pollinator-friendly planting, increase plant biodiversity and sustainability while beautifying and improving this communal unused local space which will foster community pride, connect people to each other and provide valuable opportunities for learning and wellbeing in nature. The community centre lies in Rose hill, an area recognised by Oxfordshire’s Green Space Deprived Neighbourhoods report as having poor local provision of accessible green space and high population density. The project will install a series of planters as a parklet for seating along with a path for easy access. The planters will be filled with pollinator plants to allow the visitors to enjoy seating in a community space with flowers and insects around.
