Rosliston Forestry Centre, Swadlincote - Development of Kate's Pond (40352/D)

The project aims to re-establish a healthy, sustainable pond habitat on site, which will improve the local natural environment encouraging a wide range of species. The new pond will be an aesthetically pleasing and enjoyable place for the public to come and visit. Involving volunteers in the development of the pond and creation of educational resources will create opportunities for team building and increased skills and knowledge as well as a sense of ownership. Pond education activities and events will engage people with nature and encourage them explore the pond wildlife together with family and friends whilst respecting the pond habitat.
