Roundhegians Sports Association Pitch Drainage

The Roundhegians Sports Association includes Rugby, Badminton, Football, Golf and Moortown Shotokan Karate Club.
The Association is based at the Memorial Ground which is naturally very wet and boggy. When the pitches were created, power station ash was imported to level the ground and create a playing plateaux. This has compacted over the years and now seriously impedes drainage to the original land drains, causing the pitches to be frequently waterlogged. The project involves vertidraining and sanding the pitches to enable the water to reach the land drains.
