Royal Arsenal NarrowGauge

The long term aim of the Trust is to restore and operate the last remaining steam locomotive from the Royal Arsenal for public benefit, the site of which which was adjacent to the planned route of the proposed narrow gauge railway. The project defined in this application envisages the restoration of a second locomotive and two carriages, the addition of new doors to the Engine Shed and the start of track laying. The locomotive would be used both to facilitate the laying of track and, subsequently, with the restored carriages, provide a passenger carrying service for visitors to the site.
