Royal Hall Heritage Lounge

The creation of a Heritage Lounge on the Upper Balcony of the Royal Hall, Harrogate. The lounge will provide both audio – visual and physical displays of architectural, social and historical significance. It will also provide an educational and training facility – particularly for local schools and colleges. The Lounge will form the climax of the Interpretive Heritage Trail that is being created within the restored Royal Hall. This is an important, additional role created for the Royal Hall as the Visitor and Heritage Centre for Harrogate and the surrounding district. The Heritage Trail will trace the history of the Royal Hall and the heritage of Harrogate as one of Europe’s leading spas in Victorian and Edwardian times. A number of ‘display stations’ on the trail will provide interpretative information for visitors. Entry will be free of charge outside the times allocated to programmed performances in the auditorium. Disabled access is included.
