RSPB Dearne Valley, Floodplain Grazing Marsh & Reedbed Creation Project

The project will bring three areas under the conservation management of the RSPB Old Moor, Dearne Valley Site. At Bolton Ings an area of reedbed and grazing marsh will be created. At Wombwell fencing will be used to allow controlled grazing, and slucies and ditch work will allow the site to be wetted to create grazing marsh. Work at the Edderthorpe site will include fencing and water control systems to create grazing marsh. In total 119 hectares of grazing marsh and 10 hectares of Reedbed will be created.
