RSPB Middleton Lakes Visitor Facilities Improvement Project

Middleton Lakes is a mosaic of wetlands, meadows and woodland in the heart of the River Tame Valley. With Birmingham nearby, the reserve is a valuable green space for local urban communities. We currently receive 55,000 visitors a year, but this figure is growing rapidly. Visitor infrastructure at the reserve is basic but there is huge potential to attract a wider audience. This application is for the development of visitor facilities at RSPB Middleton lakes including the provision of new play equipment, play trail improvements, covered event space, and a footbridge replacement.
