Ruff Wood Access Improvements – Phase 2

Improve access to Ruff Wood in Ormskirk by repairing and improving footpath surfaces, installing new benches, improving entrances and installing artworks. Access points to the wood will be improved, reducing gradients and changing the arrangement of barriers and fences to make access easier for wheelchairs and making these entrances onto a busy road safer. A chainsaw artist will produce a number of sculptures to place at gateway focal points and as discovery items in the woodland.

The project will be delivered in 2 separate project phases. This application is specifically for phase 2 and includes creating a new metaled surface to the crosslink footpath through the wood to the former quarry, with associated scrub clearance and installation of three new wood sculptures.
