Rufford Branch Towpath Enhancement Scheme

The project will improve 750m of canal towpath and washwall increasing the accessibility for all users of this public amenity. The towpath lies adjacent to Rufford Old Hall, a National Trust site, and offers the opportunity for circular walks from the Hall. In the event of inclement weather access can sometimes be reduced and it is our intention to enhance the current specification to encourage more all year round usage.
