Rugby Cricket Club - Outfield Repair

The outfield at RCC urgently needs repair to address major issues in performance and player safety. It was identified has the highest priority by our membership (concerns detailed in supporting letter). In simple terms, a cricket outfield should be a smooth, consistent grass surface to allow the ball to travel smoothly. Ours has deteriorated badly and is the opposite, plagued by weeds, bumps, patchy and thatched grass and big dips. This means it is unfit for purpose and even dangerous.

A grounds report was commissioned, which outlines the severity of the problem and their recommended, detailed actions. The work is well beyond the capability or equipment they have within their own team of volunteer groundsmen, so they will need to use an external contractor who will renovate the outfield and future proof it against such problems coming back.
