Rugby For All - New Floodlights at Halifax Rugby Club

The project will see installation of energy-efficient floodlights on a second training/playing pitch to allow more usage during the Rugby season. The project will improve training opportunities, particularly for mixed ability and women's squads, who will be able to train for longer periods, as one club. The Rugby club has transformed the lives of people with disabilities (players with cerebral palsy, extreme autism). The Halifax RUFC Women's and Girls' teams emphasise the profound impact of rugby on confidence, physical/mental health, social skills for participants in an high-deprivation area (most deprived 11% in England) where project beneficiaries with disabilities (more likely to live in poverty, loss of care support during covid-19) have suffered disproportionately.
