Rushmere Country Park Cafe Project

Rushmere Country Park is a relatively new facility, formed when the Greensand Trust and Central Bedfordshire Council purchased a former forestry plantation and joined it with existing holdings in 2009 to create a 400 acre (168ha) Country Park. Since then the Partners have developed facilities and activities, including a cafe within a former residential bungalow now being used as a visitor centre.

The project will create paved and decked external seating areas to enhance the café, along with two discrete children’s play areas. The first will provide an ideal location for parents/carers to have refreshments while supervising young children playing, the second will link the building to an existing play feature for older children. The focus of the play areas will be natural play, utilising wooden features.

We will also be making the building more secure through the installation of security shutters.
