Ruthin Gardens, Cardiff – Open Space Improvements

Ruthin Gardens is an informal public open space consisting of a 13m wide x 91m long, area of grassed land with existing mature trees, set in a residential area with a high proportion of student accommodation. This project has been ‘driven’ by Student Liaison Staff working in partnership with local Police Community Support Officers with the objective of transforming what is currently an unsightly area into a usable, attractive and safe space for the quiet enjoyment of residents and visitors. The project will help to regenerate the area and it will have a positive impact on environmental and community concerns. The works will incorporate user-friendly footpaths/paving, landscaped gardens, install modern street furniture including litter bins/bollards/seating and an ‘Interpretation Board’. Safer access for users/visitors will also be created.
