Safe and Accessible Cycling

The project site has a cycle track which was completed three years ago but hasn’t been open and used as expected due to Covid. Disability trikes have already been purchased in partnership with British Cycling along with an electric wheelchair bike to accommodate wheelchair users. This project will allow the refurbishment of a polytunnel to create a bicycle repair workshop. The polytunnel is in a state of disrepair and needs to be recovered with a suitable roof. A workshop is an integral part to the cycling activity as all bikes need to be assessed after use. The polytunnel is also used for bike storage – there are currently 20 trikes, 1 electric wheelchair bike and 8 push bikes. Funding will also pay for bike tools.
