Saffron Walden Cricket Club – Net Practice Facility Extension

We provide the opportunity to be coached and play cricket to people of all abilities – boys and girls, men and women and youngsters with special needs. The National Governing Body (ECB) recognise the quality of what we do – Clubmark. We have one ground where we play cricket as well as run coaching sessions for youngsters from 5 years of age through to senior level. There are not enough days in the week during the season which means that matches and coaching have to take place at the same time. When the matches involve a hard ball this means the coaching is not safe. It also means that one net bay (with two nets) is insufficient to provide quality coaching. We need to extend this facility to include two more nets. It is recommended that each net has no more than 8 players using it at a time.
