Saltburn Gill Action Group

Saltburn Gill Action Group is committed to finding a remedy for the red oxide pollution of the river running through Saltburn Gill, a pretty nature reserve and SSSI. The pollution comes as a result of mine water leaking from former local ironstone mines. An initial scoping study has been commissioned. This identified the full nature of the problem and a range of options which could be used to clean the river. A full feasibility study is now required to identify the most effective means of dealing with the problem.
