Salthill Quarry LNR Improvement Project

Salthill Quarry Local Nature Reserve is situated close to the centre of Clitheroe. The site was a former limestone quarry. The site has heavy usage by the local public and visitors. Consequently the infrastructure of he reserve has become worn and damaged. One of the major paths is very narrow and has a muddy surface. The intention is to upgrade the path to a specification which will comply with low mobility access standards. Other paths on the site will also be resurfaced. All interpretative signs on the site will be replaced. A high standard stone seat with sculptured geological features will be installed. The works will all serve to encourage more people to use the site and increase their enjoyment
