Sand and water play at Barnwell Country Park

A sand and water themed play zone will be created in a corner of the park that is in need of regeneration. It will include a large sand play pit to enable children to manipulate sand and water in creative ways. The area will be landscaped with recumbent boulders and banks to form an attractive natural looking play space. Volunteers and park staff will help prepare the area. The park was developed on the site of former sand and gravel workings, this project therefore connects with the heritage of the park, providing educational as well as active sensory and imaginative play
