Sand Martin Wall Extension

There is an established Sand Martin nesting colony at Murton Nature Reserve. During 2006 250 pairs of birds bred in the sand/stone face. In 2007 no birds nested as the wall collasped occasionally. At present there is little room for the colony to expand and the proposed extension to the Sand Martin Wall will give along term security secure from predators and without the risk of erosion.
