Sandfield Woodland Project

This project will involve undertaking woodland management and access work to allow for safe public use and use by some local schools for educational use. The woodland has been under managed for many years, works will involve a clean up of rubbish from the wood, tree surgery to remove dangerous trees/limbs, footpath and access improvements to the pond area with new safety fencing. The project will work with parents, local schools and environmental organizations at Sandfield Natural Play Centre and local woodland workers to provide a facility for training in woodland skills such as coppicing and management of sustainable wood products such as willow. The woodland has open access to the public at all times.
