Sanquhar Woodlands, Forres – Woodland Burial Grouns: Access Improvements

FCWT has obtained planning consent to bring into operation two separate natural (woodland) burial areas within its Sanquhar Woodlands. The provision of these natural burial facilities will help generate an income stream that will contribute to the sustainable management and stewardship of the Trust’s woodlands over the long term, thus reducing dependence on external funding. However, the quality of pedestrian and vehicular access serving both natural burial areas is currently poor. FCWT’s first step in bringing the natural burial areas to a higher standard for commercial availability, is therefore to enhance specific sections of internal access tracks and footpaths and provide high quality and long lasting thresholds and signage at key entrance points to the burial areas themselves.
