Saving St Brides Chapel Arran

The overall aim of the project is to secure the ruins of Kilbride Chapel and conserve its burial ground for people today and for future generations to experience and learn from.
The aims of this part of the project are to:
1. To gain a full understanding of the cultural and natural heritage significance of the site.
2. To determine what are appropriate repair works for the chapel and memorials.
3. To provide greater physical and virtual access to the site and the information it contains.
4. To gain consent to undertake the works.
5. To consolidate and preserve the chapel and its graveyard using conservation best practice.
6. To leave a lasting legacy to succeeding generations of this important part of the island’s history.
7. To encourage all persons interested in the preservation of St Brides to provide help and assistance to achieve the desired objectives.
