Saving the roof of The Haven

The Haven is the last surviving house on the Dunton plotlands and we run it as a museum of 1930’s plotland life, popular with adults and heavily used by school groups. We need to keep the property watertight and there is some reluctance from contractors to do routine repairs as the roof consists of asbestos tiles. A specialised firm can spray the underneath of the tiles with plastic foam, which will bind them together and could provide another 25 years of life. Without the treatment we are looking at a costly reroofing, with the property unusable for some time
