Projects / Saving the Tower and Spire for the next 150 years

Saving the Tower and Spire for the next 150 years

The aims are to:
1. Help preserve the church as the last remaining Victorian building of significance in Redhill – a town which grew up with the coming of the railways. It is 150 years old this year.
2. Undertake the first major maintenance project on these structures in living memory.
3. Ensure that the tower and spire – which form the main entrance to the building – remain safe so that St Matthew’s future is assured both as a place of worship and as a thriving hub for central Redhill’s multi-ethnic community.
