Scandel Beck Green Improvements

The Parish Council has been gifted a piece of land in perpetuity. The land (approx 1 acre) includes a tennis court, an area of woodland and it abutts the limestone Scandel Beck which is an SSSI and home to the endangered White Clawed Crayfish. The previous owner has gifted the land on the understanding that the area is for community use and educational opportunities for children at the neighbouring primary school and that the land is properly maintained and not used for building. The funding is to rebuild and make safe the beckside retaining wall.
